Research has been done to broaden the block chain’s use cases outside of finance since Bitcoin introduced it. One sector where block chain is anticipated to have a big influence is healthcare. Researchers and practitioners in health informatics constantly struggle to keep up with the advancement of this field's new but quickly expanding body of research. This paper provides a thorough analysis of recent studies looking into the application of block chain based technology within the healthcare sector. Electronic health records (EHRs) are becoming a crucial tool for health care practitioners in achieving these objectives and providing high-quality treatment. Technology and regulatory barriers, such as concerns about results and privacy issues, make it difficult to use these technologies. Despite the fact that a variety of efforts have been introduced to focus on the specific privacy and security needs of future applications with functional parameters, there is still a need for research into the application, security and privacy complexities, and requirements of block chain based healthcare applications, as well as possible security threats and countermeasures. The primary objective of this article is to determine how to safeguard electronic health records (EHRs) using block chain technology in healthcare applications. It discusses contemporary HyperLedgerfabrics techniques, Interplanar file storage systems with block chain capabilities, privacy preservation techniques for EHRs, and recommender systems

Infertility is a common problem of new age couples. It is affecting them psychologically and also affecting the harmony of the family. Among infertility couples, 40% was caused by male partner particularly by oligospermia. Literally oligospermia means insufficient number of spermatozoa in semen, but significantly, it means that oligospermia is a medical condition characterized by the total sperm count less than 20 million/ml of ejaculate. Extensive clinical researches are going on worldwide to treat oligospermia by utilizing various natural sources like plants, mineral and animal origin.Siddha medicine is having many formulations to treat oligospermia, one among them is Dhathu bushti chooranam described in Noigalukku Siddha Parigaram –a Sasthiric siddha literature. 10 male partners of infertility couples attending Sool mahalir maruthuvam OPD of the Ayothidoss Pandithar Hospital, National Institute of Siddha, Tambaram sanatorium, Chennai-47 were recruited for this pilot study. All patients were treated with 10 gm of Dhathu bushti chooranam twice a day with milk for 90 days. All patients were subjected to complete semenogram on 0th and 90th day of treatment. Results were observed by analyzing the semenogram parameters. The ingredients of Dhathu bushti chooranam are Salamisiri, Nilapanai kizhangu,Thaneervittan kizhangu, Poonaikaali vidhai, Boomisarkkarai kizhangu and most of them are having good spermatogenesis and aphrodiasic activities, hence the author selected this drug for this study. The efficacy of the trial drug Dhathu bushti chooranam was appreciable and the drug may be taken for clinical trial in large number of population

Objective: To study the prevalence, clinical and molecular genetic characteristics of cerebellar ataxia in an ethnic Tamil community in India. Methods: An epidemiological study of cerebellar ataxia was done in two villages in the Indian state of Tamilnadu where its prevalence was observed to be high. All the people were screened and the clinical characteristics of those with ataxia were recorded. Genetic analysis was done in those with ataxia and in two asymptomatic control groups - group I belonging to the affected community and group II belonging to the unaffected community. The clinical and genetic results are correlated. Measures to help the community are suggested. Results: The total population of the two villages was 378. Among them 345 belonged to Vanniyakula Kshatriyar community and 33 to another. Cerebellar ataxia was found in 25 individuals belonging only to the former community (7.2%). The mean age of onset was 39.8 years and the salient features were ataxic gait (100%), dysarthria (100%), pyramidal signs (72%), slow saccades (48%) and bleeding diathesis (12%). Genetic studies were done in 17 of the study group. All showed pathological expansion of CAG repeats above 40, in chromosome 6p, diagnostic of SCA1. 7 of the 18 in the control group (I) and none in control group (II) had CAG repeats above 40. Conclusion: The prevalence of SCA1 is high (7.2%) in this ethnic Tamil community with a large asymptomatic group waiting to manifest. The symptomatic individuals need social support and rehabilitation. Appropriate counseling, prenatal evaluation and therapy will prevent the spread of disease to the next generation

Cognitive impairment was caused by scopolamine (1 mg/kg, ip) in mice and 5-HT3 ligands mCPBG (1 and 5 mg/kg, ip) and ondansetron (0.5 and 5mg/kg, ip) were administered before the pre- learning phase to study the effects on acquisition, while post-learning administration was used to determine the effects on consolidation. Ondansetron improved acquisition and retention in cholinergic hypofunctional models while mCPBG potentiated selected impaired cognitive indices. The results indicate the role of 5-HT3 receptors in cognition and that an ideal evaluation of 5-HT3 ligands in cognition should distinguish true cognitive effects from locomotor, motivational and emotional effects<span style="font-size: 8.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:" times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-font-family:="" "times="" roman";color:black;mso-ansi-language:en-in;mso-fareast-language:="" en-in;mso-bidi-language:hi"="" lang="EN-IN">.</span

Luminescent lanthanum oxyfluoride nano inorganic materials were considered to be prospective building blocks for multifunctional applications. This offers new potentials in surface-based science comprising of visualization of latent fingerprint (LFPs) and lips print on non-porous surfaces. Traditional visualization techniques possess high backward hindrance, low sensitivity, complicated setup and poor visibility. To overcome with these problems, LaOF:Sm3+ (5 mol%) nanopowder (NPs) prepared via sonochemical route were explored. Photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra exhibit strong emission peaks at ∼566 nm, 607 nm, 653 nm and 708 nm attributed to 4G5/2 → 6H5/2, 4G5/2 → 4H7/2, 4G5/2 → 6H9/2 and 4G5/2 → 6H11/2 intra-4f orbital transitions of Sm3+ ions respectively. Estimated photometric properties confirm that the material emits warm orange red color. Therefore, the synthesized phosphor materials may quite be useful for LFPs recovery, cheiloscopy and optoelectronics applications.
